William Dwight Cook, Sr., age 71 of Brady, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Brady, Texas. William, known as “Wito” by friends and family, was born on May 22, 1953, to William Hobbs Cook and Wanda Jane (Teague) Cook in Austin, Texas. He was one of eight children. He grew up in Brady. He married Debbie Milam on July 17, 1971, in Brady. He worked as a roofer, and a scrap hauler. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns and boats. He loved playing with his grandkids, and BBQ. He has lived in Brady all his life.

Funeral services for William Cook will be held at 10:00am Monday, March 17, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Bobby Covey officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6PM-8PM at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Friends may view and/or sign Wito’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. Pallbearers will be Jacob Cox, Jason Cox, Derek Cox, David Cook, Trey Clark and James Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be George Cox and Chance Richardson.

William Cook is survived by his loving wife, of 53 years, Debbie Cook of the home; sons William Cook, JR., and fiancé Diane Pistole of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, James Ray Cook and wife Kim of Brady, Texas; daughter Sandy Dian Cox and husband George of Placid, Texas; brothers Charles “ Rabbit” Cook of Brady, Texas, Dennis Cook and wife Delores of Brady, Texas, Donnie Cook of Brady, Texas, Shane Cook and wife Michelle of Eden, Texas; sisters Tammye Cook of Brady, Texas, Janice Gonzales and husband Jessie of Eden, Texas, Barbara Roberts and husband Tony of Brady, Texas; grandchildren Derek Cox, Jacob Cox, Jason Cox, Tony Soto, Brittany Cook, Tanner Cook, Trey Clark, James Williams, Melissa Williams; great-grandchildren Carter, Charlie, Cooper, Cayson, Carolynn, Kyler, Kaylynn, Keaton, Wyatt, Bransyn, Lucas,; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by parents and brother Bobby.
