Dwayne Ray Munger, age 88 passed away on March 11, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 23rd at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Dwayne was born on May 28, 1936 in Coleman, Texas to Burt and Ida Munger. Dwayne was also known as Dad, Daddy or Papaw to his family. He married Anita Jean McCulloch in 1959 and together they had 3 daughters and 1 son. Later he went on to married Margaret Molinar in 1980 and they were married until her passing in 2018.

Dwayne enjoyed going hunting and fishing. Dwayne enlisted in the United States Navy and was a END3 and transferred out to the Reserves. While he was in the United States Navy, he learned to be a diesel mechanic, he loved to tinker with engines even after his enlistment was over. So, when he was discharged from the Navy, he became certified to work on Cummins engines. He could work on any engine, for friends, family, etc. Dwayne enjoyed watching all classic westerns, a few of them being Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Rifleman. His favorite actors were John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. But he had other favorites as well, like Wylie Coyote, Roadrunner, Bugs Bunny and Foghorn Leghorn and was often caught laughing and enjoying his cartoons. Dwayne loved doing Donald Duck impressions to make his family smile. Most importantly Dwayne loved his family and spending time with them at gatherings.

Dwayne is survived by his daughters, Carla Langan of Clovis, NM, Dana Herring of Brownwood, TX and Denise Taylor of Cameron, TX; 2 sons, David Roberts of Las Cruces, NM and Ronnie Roberts of Sharpsburg, GA; sisters, Ann Geurin of El Paso, TX and Deborah Stadjuhar of Las Cruces, NM; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; 3 nieces and 4 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Munger; parents Burt and Ida Munger; brother Travis Munger; son Darren Munger; daughter Karen Revis; granddaughter Betty Leal Duren and brother-in-law Gerald Geurin.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
