Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 5/28

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of May 18-24, 2015 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 19 medical emergencies, 6 fire calls, and 3 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, May 18

*1:01 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with entrapment in the 500 block of W. Commerce. Firefighters used jaws and spreaders to open a door and extricated the occupant who was then secured for transport.

*2:46 PM – BFD was dispatched to the 700 block of Fisk Avenue regarding female locked in bathroom.  A key was found and the door was unlocked.

Tuesday, May 19

*1:39 PM –BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 800 block of FM 3254 regarding a general fire alarm.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find all occupants had evacuated the building.  Firefighters entered the building, nothing was found and the alarm panel was reset.

*6:15 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2800 block of N. Hwy 279.  Fire units arrived on scene to find the owner was burning debris in an approved container.

Wednesday, May 20

*4:20 PM – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident no injuries in the 800 block of W. Commerce with.  Firefighters cleared the roadway.

Thursday, May 21

*8:46 PM – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call at 9th Street and Ave B.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find antifreeze on roadway from a minor motor vehicle accident.  Fire crews used absorbent to contain the spill.

Friday, May 22

*12:35 PM – BFD was called to a hazardous materials call in the 2400 block of Good Shepherd Drive.  Firefighters arrived on scene to investigate a gas leak.  A gas detector was used but nothing found.

Saturday, May 23

*1:53 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the area of Avenue J and Durham.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a power line down. Oncor was notified.

*4:19 PM – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a woman driver in a vehicle in the parking lot with airbags deployed.  She was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center (BRMC).

Sunday, May 24

*12:06 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 3500 block of Austin Avenue.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find Oncor replacing a fuse.

*12:12 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident at Main Street and Austin Avenue .  One occupant was transported to BRMC.
