Tony Moreno

Anthony Moreno, age 49, of Hico, Texas, formerly of Brady passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Hico. Tony, as he was known by those who knew and loved him, was born August 20, 1975, in Upland, California to James Moreno and Ruby Louise (Elliott). He graduated from High School in Hesperia, California. Tony served in the Army National Guard and was an Iraq war veteran. Tony loved to sing, dance and joke around. Growing up, he was known as the silly kid. enjoyed motocross, fishing, hunting, camping and boating. He especially liked off-roading with his family. His favorite place was Glamis Sand Dunes in California, where he considered his Home Away from Home. He was always “WORKING” on something or modifying one of his vehicles. He was very enthusiastic about the WORD. He would send a Bible quote to family each morning. He has lived in central Texas since 1993, after living in California for several years. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brady.

A private family celebration of life, with military honors, will be held at a later date for Anthony Moreno. Friends may view and/or sign Tony’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Tony is survived by his loving mother Ruby Phillips of Brady, Texas; his father James Moreno and wife Lori Ann of Brady, Texas; partner Kassie Scribner of Hico, Texas; sons Anthony Gossett and wife April of San Angelo, Texas, Harlee Moreno of Goldthwaite, Texas, Kase Moreno of Goldthwaite, Texas, Trenton Pelt of Hico, Texas; daughters Macy Moreno of Midland, Texas and Shyann Scribner of Hico, Texas; brothers Jay Moreno and wife Margarita of Brady, Texas, Christopher Moreno and wife Allegra of Destin, Florida, and Lee Moreno of Dallas, Texas; sister Moriah Moreno Treadway and husband Tanner of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Asher and Ayden; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Enrique Bravo Moreno, Irven Elliott, and Carol M. Elliott.
