Larry Thomas Magee, 83, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2025.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, from 10 AM to noon at Higginbotham Funeral Home, 309 NE 4th St., Cross Plains, Texas 76443. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM at the Cross Cut Cemetery seven miles south of Cross Plains on Hwy. 279 in Brown County, Texas.

Larry was born August 6, 1941, in Sweetwater, Texas to Clyde Earl Magee and Doris Irene Jones Magee. He graduated from Divide High School in Nolan, Texas in 1960 and proudly served in the U. S. Army at a missile base in Germany. On March 23, 1980, he married Dolores Byrd Richardson in Odessa, Texas.

With a deep love for his family, Larry especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid square dancer and cherished playing with his beloved dog, Andy, and taking him on rides in the golf cart. After retiring from Champion Technologies, Larry spent the next 15 winters in Port Aransas, Texas, where he enjoyed golfing and fishing with his Winter Texan friends.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents, Clyde and Doris Magee, his brother Dean Magee, and his stepdaughter Dana Richardson Balkum. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, his stepdaughter Jill Richardson Betts and husband Lenley of Liberty Hill, his brothers John Magee and wife Doris of Granbury, and Ken Magee and wife Barbara of Abilene. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Brooke Kammer, Katelyn Balkum, and Zachary Betts; a great-grandson, Bennett Kammer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.
