BHSClassof1965Graduation

The BHS Class of ’65 celebrated their 50th year reunion Friday May 1st through Sunday, May 3rd.  Members came from all over the U.S.:  Illinois to the North, Connecticut to the East and Colorado to the West.  This class was also the largest class to graduate from BHS and the first class to go through all grades in the new high school when it was first built.  Over 100 classmates and their spouses began their trip down memory lane on Friday evening with a no host meal at The Hideout Golf Course Lodge.  Classmates also enjoyed a game of golf and played another 18 holes on Saturday morning.

The BHS principal, Mr. Mitch Moore, gave the classmates a tour of the high school Saturday afternoon.  Class organizer Janice Moore and painter Dan Morelock presented the high school with a lion painting and Dorothy McIntosh’s quote: “We advance no higher than the hills we climb” that was featured behind the graduating class during their May 1965 Commencement Exercises.

The evening meal was provided by the 4-H Center.  An evening of sharing memories and catching up was held in a 4-H Center Lodge.   Music was provided by Jim Byrd.

Sunday morning’s breakfast was furnished by Juan Andrade and Dan Morelock.  There were a lot of hugs as class members bid each other farewell, looking forward to when they meet again at the next reunion.

The class also expressed a special thanks to Judy Brownlee for decorations, in addition to a CD that her daughter, Sara, created, Linda Oglesby for entertainment and helping Janice, ASAP Creative Arts for the lettering, and a big thank you to Janice Moore for organizing the whole event.
