EARLY – The Early Lady Horns made quick work of the San Saba Lady Dillos, 15-0, Friday afternoon in their softball season opener.

Early’s 16-hit attack included four from Marissa Reedy, who homered and drove in two; three from Tiffany Phelps, who tripled and knocked in three; two from Kyleigh Caperton, who hit a pair of solo home runs; two from Aleeya McCombs, who doubled and knocked in one; and one hit and one RBI each from Rylee Tupin, Jaime Lyon, Harper Thornberry and Leslee Beard. Aubrie DeVillier also collected a hit.

Beard tossed a three-hit shutout with four strikeouts and one walk over four innings, while the Early defense did not commit an error.

Next is on the schedule for Early is a 9 a.m. game Thursday, Feb. 20 to open the Battle of the Bayou softball tournament.
