Terry went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12th on the farm that he loved. We rejoice together that he is made whole, is not hurting, and is singing with the angels in his new home in heaven. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life and his family and friends.

Terry was born on April 3rd, 1947, in Bryan, to Horace and Joyce Geye while his dad was in school at Texas A&M University. They moved to Rising Star when he was four months old where his dad became the ag teacher at Rising Star. Terry attended school at Rising Star where he excelled in so many areas. He was a born leader and had a great high school career as the quarterback for the Wildcats. As the son of two teachers, he was always successful, even if he didn’t want to be. Terry of course showed animals and participated in many FFA events in a very successful manner.

He married Sharon Donham of Rising Star in the summer of 1965; their daughter Debbie was born to Terry & Sharon in 1966. In 1970, he graduated with his bachelor and master’s degree in Ag Education from Sam Houston State University. He began his teaching degree in Belton, Texas and ended it as a football coach and teacher at Clyde, Texas in 1977. Brandon was born in May 1974. While at Clyde, Terry started farming with a small Ford tractor and a few implements on land that is the current homestead of the farm in Rising Star. They moved back home to Rising Star in 1977, and Sharon was tragically killed on a mission trip in July 1979.

Terry met Gretchin Williams at the John Deere house in Rising Star. This was definitely the talk of the town. Gretchin found it odd that he needed one shear bolt for his John Deere square baler every single day. She finally got the hint, and they were married in Las Vegas in 1984. Brandon was actually the greatest blessing, and he enjoyed many years of dragging calves to shows and farming with his boy. Chloe was born in 1992 and softened his old grumpy heart for good.

Terry has been the patriarch of this farming family where he loved farming peanuts, cotton, hay and cattle. The cycle continues with his kids and now his grandbabies in the ag industry. He served on the Farm Services Committee, the Brown County Fair Association, and Rising Star Methodist Church Board. He was a closet softy and helped many that asked for his help in and around the community.
Pop is survived by his wife Gretchin; his daughter Debbie Geye of Honolulu, Hawaii; his son Brandon and wife Shannon Geye of Rising Star; his daughter Chloe and her husband Ryan Jones of Ardmore, Oklahoma; his beloved grandchildren: Everett and Lorrie Spencer of Portland, Oregon; Hannah Spencer of Honolulu; Ethan Spencer of Honolulu; Emory Geye of Rising Star; Abby Geye of College Station and fiancé Landon Eldridge of Laramie, Wyoming; Dani Faye and Joie Grace Jones of Ardmore, Oklahoma,  and a great-grandson Harrison Spencer.

He is also survived by his sister Maria and Bob Cook of Brownwood; sister Pam and Taylor Hicks of Houston; and brother Tony Geye of Fort Worth. And survived by his beloved mother-in-law Wanda Williams of Cross Plains.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Sharon; his father -in-law, Travis Williams, and his “adopted” grandson Caleb Brown.

A memorial service for Terry will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Rising Star Methodist Church. The family will host a reception following the service.
