May Lady Tigers 81, Cross Plains 39

CROSS PLAINS – The May Lady Tigers captured the District 21-1A championship behind their 16th straight victory, 81-39 over Cross Plains Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers (18-8, 11-0) led 30-7 after one quarter, 51-27 at halftime and 70-33 through three frames.

Kenlyn King sparked May with 26 points followed by 13 from Jordyn Gerhardt, 12 from Mia Musick, 11 from McKenna Landes, nine from Chloe Lord, four each from Bekah Roberts and Cortney Harper and two points from Aubree Gerhardt.

May will next host Sidney Friday night.

May Tigers 55, Cross Plains 39

CROSS PLAINS – The TABC Class A No. 16 May Tigers bounced back from just their second loss of the season and remained undefeated in District 21-1A action with a 55-39 road win over Cross Plains Tuesday.

The Tigers (24-2, 9-0) led 18-10 after one quarter, 27-22 at halftime, and 40-32 heading to the fourth period.

Kobey Morris led May with 18 points trailed by 14 from Ben Harrell, 11 from Brody Stice, seven from Tyran Perry, and two points apiece from JD White and Mikey Scheriger.

The Tigers will host Sidney Friday.

Zephyr Bulldogs 54, Cherokee 36

CHEROKEE – The Zephyr Bulldogs remained alone atop the District 25-1A boys basketball standings after a 54-36 road victory over Cherokee Tuesday night.

Zephyr (17-10, 9-0) led 10-4 after one period, 25-13 at intermission, and 45-30 through three quarters.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were CJ Byers and Wyatt Stevens with 12 points apiece, Reese Hamm with 10, Spencer Marwitz with nine, Bauer Blair with six points, Ethan Byers with three, and Cooper Walls with two points.

Zephyr next hosts Brookesmith Friday.
