Brown County Sheriff to Address Drug Enforcement at Pecan Valley Republic Women’s Luncheon Thursday

BobbyGrubbsThe Pecan Valley Republican Women will feature Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs as guest speaker at their monthly luncheon meeting on Thursday, March 26 at the Brownwood Country Club.

Grubbs was elected as Brown County Sheriff is 2004, and he has been focusing heavily on drug enforcement and reducing crime in Brown County.  He will be speaking about what the Sheriff’s department has accomplished and what BCSO’s goals are for the future on drug enforcement.

Bobby Grubbs was born in Sweetwater, Texas and graduated from Sweetwater High School.  He served in the US Navy for 4 years.  He was stationed out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and was assigned to the Destroyer-USS Fletcher DD445 which deployed to Vietnam three times during his service.  Grubbs served in Denton County as a Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper for 15 years.  In November 1984, Grubbs was promoted to the Texas Ranger Division of DPS and served 2 years in Midland, Texas.  In 1986, he was assigned to Brownwood for 17 years.  He retired in 2003 with 34 years and 6 months service.  He holds a master peace office certificate from TCLEOSE, a Special Texas Ranger Commission, and Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, is a certified Crisis Intervention Hostage Negotiator, is certified in Forensic Investigation Hypnosis and is certified in all levels of kinesics interview techniques.

The Pecan Valley Republican Women invite the public to attend the luncheon.  Those attending are encouraged to ask questions and voice their concerns to Sheriff Grubbs.  Membership in PVRW is not required to attend the luncheon; however, an RSVP is encouraged.  Menu items will be available.  The luncheon is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 12 p.m.
