Early Lady Horns 42, Peaster 21

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns notched their second straight win to open District 8-3A action with a 42-21 home victory over Peaster Friday night.

Jaime Vassar scored a team-high 14 points for Early (9-8, 2-0) trailed by Aliyah Harlan with nine, Avery Williams with seven, and Gabby Benson with five points.

The Lady Horns are back in action at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Comanche.

May Tigers 55, Sidney 24

ZEPHYR – The May Tigers improved to 9-1 on the season with a 55-24 victory over Sidney Friday at the Zephyr tournament.

The Tigers led 16-5 after one period, 26-18 at halftime, and 41-21 heading to the fourth quarter.

May received 15 points from Kobey Morris, nine from Brody Stice, eight apiece from Ben Harrell and Jackson Lusk, six from Mikey Scheriger, five from Tyran Perry and two point each from JD White and Kaden Watkins.

The Tigers will face either Zephyr or Jonesboro in their first game of bracket play Saturday.

May Lady Tigers 48, Jonesboro 40

ZEPHYR – The May Lady Tigers collected their fourth win in a row during the Zephyr tournament, knocking off Jonesboro, 48-40, Friday afternoon.

Leading 13-12 after one quarter, the Lady Tigers extended the lead to 25-20 at halftime. After three periods, the advantage was 37-27 in favor of May.

The Lady Tigers were led by Jordyn Gerhardt’s 20 points, seven from Aubree Gerhardt, five each from Kenlyn King and Mia Musick, four from apiece from McKenna Landes and Bekah Roberts, and three points from Chloe Lord.

May (6-8) will wrap up tournament action at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against host Zephyr.
