Intermission Bookshop will host a book signing on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. This event is part of the Sipping Under the Stars festivities and features local authors Kadee Carder and Amy Cefoldo, who will be signing copies of their newly released 35-day devotional, “Of Atoms and Oceans.”
“Of Atoms and Ocean” invites readers to pause, breathe deeply, and experience the depths of God’s love. The blurb reads, “Each day of this thirty-five-day devotional, explore the universe within and around you—the atoms that dance in your cells, the vastness of the ocean that mirrors your soul. Discover joy in the ordinary, wonder in the mundane, and grace in the tides that ebb and flow. Let these reflections carry you, like a gentle current, toward the heart of existence. For in the smallest particles and the boundless waves, there lies a divine rhythm—a symphony of life. May this devotional fill your days with wonder and the embrace of love.”
“There are seasons where you need to just ‘feel’ life,” said Carder. “This devotional allows readers to slow down, listen, and live intentionally. Carder’s words underscore the importance of mindfulness and presence, encouraging readers to embrace the moment and find deeper meaning in their daily lives. “‘Of Atoms and Ocean’ is great to experience on your own but is also inspiring to do with friends, family, or as a group.”
Cefoldo and Carder met at Howard Payne University in 2002 and quickly discovered a shared love of language. “When your best friend asks if you want to write something with her, you say yes,” said Cefoldo. Within the pages of the devotional, the writing duos’ style reflects their deep friendship and collaborative spirit that inspired the creation of this book. Cefoldo further expressed, “Inspiring and encouraging others through my words has always been a dream and desire of mine, so co-authoring this devotional fulfills that dream.” Her passion for uplifting others is evident on every page.
Cefoldo also mentioned, “Each day, readers will encounter encouragement to fill their souls, and a challenge to help them grow. How one tackles each challenge, is up to them.” This highlights the book’s dual purpose of providing both encouragement and motivation, allowing readers to engage with the material in a way that best suits their personal journey. Cefoldo said, “Expect to be changed for better, and for good.”
