Zephyr, Blanket dominate 13-A Division II all-district football selections

The 13-A Division II all-district football roster was recently revealed and is dominated by playoff qualifiers Zephyr and Blanket.

For Zephyr:

  • Wyatt Stevens was named Offensive MVP, first-team kicker and first-team safety
  • Johnny Paul Evans-Rollins was Defensive MVP and second-team utility back
  • Ethan Byers was first-team center
  • Trapper Schoenhals was first-team offensive line and first-team defensive line
  • Corben Gosnell was first-team offensive line and first-team noseguard
  • CJ Byers was first-team utility back and first-team linebacker
  • Reese Hamm was first first-team running back and first-team cornerback
  • Wyatt Frank was second-team offensive line
  • Chayden Woodcock was second-team running back and second-team linebacker
  • Ryan Glosson was second-team spread rusher
  • Shayden Pickett received honorable mention
  • The Zephyr coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year.

For Blanket, first-team offensive selections were receiver Brian Shannon, spread center Mason Beck, quarterback Dallas Shumaker, running back Kannon Kensing and spreadback Cameron Aultman.

Landing on the first-team defense were Kensing on the defensive line, Beck at spread rusher, Aultman at linebacker and Shannon at safety.

Making the second-team offense was Kade Russell at receiver and Abel McLaughlin at kicker, while second-team defensive choices were Russell at linebacker, Shumaker at safety, and Ethan Tomme on the line.

Zephyr finished 10-1 and won its third straight district championship while Blanket went 8-2 and returned to the playoffs after a one-year absence.
