Gerald Hardin Crow, originally from Pasadena, Texas, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 after a long illness.  Plans for a memorial service are pending and will occur near Caney Creek in Sargent, Texas, where he lived for many years. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Ray Crow and Augusta (Dusty) Hardin, his son, Kyle Crow, and his brother, Joel Scott Crow.  He is survived by his three remaining children, Julie Sahmel and husband Alan, Jeff Crow, and Gena Crow; grandchildren, Adam and Wade Sahmel, Clare and Mitchell Crow, Megan Crow, Joseph (JD) Ferguson, Zachary King, and William Gayle, and his great grandchildren, Amelie Lynn Sahmel, Tucker John Sahmel, and Daemon Augustus Alexander.

Gerald graduated from Pasadena High School in 1955, where he played football, receiving a college scholarship for his athletic prowess.  He later sold insurance for a while before becoming the longtime owner of a roofing business in the Houston and Dallas areas where he developed long-lasting friendships and relationships.

When Gerald was younger, he not only loved to play football, but he loved to travel, and enjoyed snow skiing in Lake Tahoe.  In his later years, he became an avid fisherman, and he spent many days with his sons and grandsons fishing in Matagorda Bay.

Gerald had a clear testimony of faith, having been baptized after accepting Christ at Second Baptist Church, Houston, Texas.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
