RossMaryA Memorial for Mary Ann Ross, 76, of Brownwood will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 31, in the Netherton Funeral Home.  No visitation has been planned.

Ms. Ross passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Mary Ann Arnspiger was born on October 7, 1938, in Brownwood to Carl Arnspiger and Lillian (Norwood) Arnspiger.  She grew up and attended school here in Brownwood and went on to attend Southwest Texas State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work.  She had worked for 5 years in the San Antonio educational system and later for USAA Insurance as a senior analyst before moving back to Brownwood.

Mary Ann was a devout member of the Word of Faith Church, and Jesus Christ was the center of her life.  She practiced her faith daily and never missed an opportunity to witness to others by sharing her testimony.  She loved working in the yard and being outdoors and was an avid hunter, enjoying extensive travel across the United States for various hunts.  She was literally a “Master Chef” and loved cooking for her family.  Mary Ann had a heart of gold and if you had no family around, you were a part of her family for Thanksgiving dinner.  She was also an exceptional hostess and loved throwing parties for her friends in the evenings.  The entire football team would celebrate these occasions as well, by showing up the next day to finish off all of the leftovers!  At the end of the day, she loved to relax with a good book and a glass of wine in front of the fireplace.  Mary Ann was a remarkable woman, and will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her son, Carl Ford of Brownwood and a host of friends and loved ones.
