*9:44 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of 3rd Street regarding the burglary of a habitation.  According to the report, a possible suspect was identified.

* 12:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1900 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding a hit and run accident.  According to the report, the complainant’s vehicle was struck during the overnight hours.

*3:33 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to Walmart regarding theft.  According to the report, this call led to a citation being issued to the female suspect for theft less than $50.

*11:21 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop in the Bangs Cemetery, just off of County Road 321, for failure to signal turn and defective high mount brake light.  According to the report probable cause search was performed on the vehicle because the deputy could smell the odor of fresh marijuana in the vehicle.  A baggie containing approximately 12 grams of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette, and a tin box containing marijuana residue were found in the vehicle, the report states.  The driver, identified as 28-year-old Lakrisha Dawn Newton of Bangs, claimed all contraband and was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report.  The female passenger was issued a citation for open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and was released from the scene.

*Brownwood Police arrested 27-year-old Jacob Paul Keith of Bangs on warrants related to driving while license invalid and violate promise to appear.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
