William Travis Bryant

William Travis Bryant, age 64, of Bangs, passed away on September 17, 2024 in Abilene. Funeral services for Travis will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 21, at the Early High School Gym. Per the Bryant family’s request, a fundraising luncheon for the Early Band Boosters will be held immediately following the service. Location is to be determined and will be announced at the service.

Travis was born on May 12, 1960 to Virginia Pearl and Glenn Woodrow Bryant in Espanola, New Mexico. After graduating from high school, Travis obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Wayland Baptist University, and then obtained a Master’s degree at East Texas State University. Travis married the love of his life, Cathy England Bryant, on August 15, 1981 in Plainview, Texas. Travis made a lifetime career of being a Band Director and Music Minister in various places, most recently at Early ISD. He loved coaching his son’s baseball teams, and playing an occasional round of golf. Most of all, Travis loved music, and teaching music, spending time with his family; especially his grandkids, and traveling with his wife, Cathy.

Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy England Bryant of Bangs; sons, Joshua Sean Bryant and wife Marji of Cave Springs, Arkansas, and Jase Allen Bryant of Texarkana, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Harrisen, Bekah, Rylie, Carter, and Maria; brothers, Tim Bryant and wife Lynn of Wichita Falls, and Terry Bryant wife Pat of Simpsonville, South Carolina; sister Tresa Taylor and husband Butch of Katy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, students, and friends.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents.
