Janie Catherine Winslett

JanieWinslettJanie Catherine Winslett, age 81, passed away March 25, 2010 in Brownwood, Texas. Janie was born January 18, 1929 in Coleman, Tx to James A. and Lillie (Cason) Baker. She married Gordon Huel Winslett on February 14, 1948, she and Gordon traveled the world from 1964 to 1984 but Janie only considered the Coleman and Brown counties of Texas as her ‘home”. She settled in 1993 in Brownwood for her final years and her children and grandchildren want to say thank you to all who expressed kindness and compassion to her here, she thought you were the greatest people in the world.

Janie is survived by daughter Micheline Winslett Tielke of Bedias,Tx; sons, Les Winslett of Castle Rock, Co., and Brian Winslett of Portland, Or.; daughter, Kara Winslett Corbin of Phoenix, Ar.; Granddaughters, Kristina Munro of Los Angelos, Ca., Heather Winslett of Huntington Beach, Ca., and Mary Winslett of Broomfield, Co.; grandson, Erik Winslett of Arvada, Co.; and granddaughters, Veronica Winslett and Emily Winslett of Portland, Or.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Gordon Huel Winslett.

Janie was cremated under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
