NJCAA_Reg5On Monday, January 5, the Brownwood Coliseum will host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) basketball shootout triple-header featuring some of the country’s best two-year college men’s talent.

Games will include:

2:00 p.m. – Odessa College vs. Ranger College

4:00 p.m. – Howard College vs. Weatherford College

6:00 p.m. – New Mexico Junior College vs. Hill College

Hill College and New Mexico Junior College played in last year’s National Championship Tournament.  Howard and Odessa frequently find themselves fighting for national honors.  Weatherford College is regularly in contention for post-season honors while Ranger College won Conference Championships in both 2012 and 2013.

The Brownwood Coliseum will also play host to the Region V National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament here March 4-7 and again in 2016.  This tournament will feature the top 8 men’s and women’s teams as they battle for berths and the National Championship.

Dr. Don Bostic, Ranger College Executive Vice-President and Tournament Director says that Monday’s triple-header will serve as a dress rehearsal for the March tournament as well as feature some of the best talent in the area.

Admission is free for Monday’s event.
