Brown County Public Officials were sworn into office and their bonds approved at the special called meeting of the Brown County Commissioners Court on Friday morning.

Several newly elected officials replace longtime office holders.  Sam Moss was elected to the position of Judge County Court at Law after defeating longtime judge Frank Griffin.  Cheryl Jones was elected District Clerk after the retirement of Jan Brown who was the District Clerk for more than 30 years.  Mike Holder was elected Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 after defeating longtime JP Bob Wall.  Roy Parrack defeated CT Ham for the position of Constable Precinct 3.  Ham had held the office for many years, lost an election in 2012 and then was reappointed to the position in 2013 after his opponent Keith Varner left the office with an unexpired term.

Pictured above is Judge Sam Moss of the Brown County Court at Law as he was sworn into office by County Judge Ray West.  Listed below are public officials sworn in Friday.
