Rance Lee Barnes

Rance Lee Barnes, 62, of Early passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 at his home in Early, Texas. Rance was a very private person, never wanted attention or “fuss” on his part. Services to be private and under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Rance was born August 24, 1962 in Brownwood, Texas to Harvey and Nelda Barnes. He graduated from Early High School and went to Angelo State University where he excelled in football and received a Bachelor degree in Computers and Business Administration. Rance worked for Bowie Lumber while in high school and Kelly Moore paints while in college. He worked for Home Depot as a project manager traveling and setting up new Home Depot locations in Fort Worth, Dallas and Austin areas. He could do just about anything, knowledgeable in many fields. Rance loved football, loud music, fast boats and faster cars. He loved animals, friends and his family. His best friend in the world was his brother, Ricky.

Rance is survived by his mother, Nelda Joyce Barnes of Early; baby sister, Jeana and husband, Ronnie Rodgers of Blanket; nephew, Reece Rodgers of Brownwood; four nieces, Ramsie Rodgers of Blanket, Brandi and Dale England of Brownwood, Bridjett and Chad Dail of May, Kinsey and Payton Ragsdale of Brownwood; a grandniece, Brooklynn McCullough of Brownwood; 5 grandnephews, Caleb McCullough of San Angelo, Cayson and Cooper Dail of May, Easton England and Rixx Ragsdale of Brownwood; and uncle Travis and Mary Barnes of Early; two aunts, Liz Hardy of May and Marcy Richardson of Liberty Hill; many friends and cousins.

Rance was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Lee Barnes; brother, Ricky Barnes; grandparents, Eddie and Ida Murphy, Lonnel and Veda Barnes and two aunts, Wilma Lemmons and Kaydon Liles.
