The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of September 4:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 3.65 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.23 pounds are fair on Hag’s F8 tornados in watermelon red flake on the ledges and brush piles in 12-18 feet with a dropshot and on crankbaits off the rocks in 3-12 feet around the rock cuts. Crappie are slow around docks with brush on minnows in 12-20 feet of water. White bass are fair on crankbaits and some schooling action all over the lake but do not stay up long. Catfish are fair with catches up to 8 pounds on cut bait at baited holes and drifting cut shad on the main lake flats.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water normal stain; 75 degrees; 13.43 feet below pool. The bite is slow, and the lake is turning over due to the runoff from the recent rain. The bite is expected to pick up once we have clear skies! Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 3.25 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are biting topwaters in the morning. Later in the day target standing timber with finesse baits. Crappie are fair with jigs and minnows.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 85 degrees; 31.39 feet below pool. Water temperatures are starting to fall as late week rains move in. Black bass are slow with catches up to 6 pounds on topwaters early in the morning or with creature baits in the brush to 12 feet. Some action on spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in the brush. Fish suspended in the trees can be caught with plum or june bug 10-in worms One fish over 10 reported this week. Crappie are really good suspended in big timber from Elm Creek all the way up the river. Best bet is minnows but can be caught on small jigs as well. A lot of fish suspended around 12 feet, the bottom depth can vary. White bass slow on rattle traps in schools down by the dam. And under lights at night. Catfish fair on a variety of stink baits and cut shad.  Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 3.81 feet below pool. Fishing is slow for all species. Catfish are slow but can be caught from the bank on punch bait, in deep with cut bait, or on jug lines.
