Helen Virginia “Zena” Grissom Sikes of Brownwood, passed away on August 21, 2024.

Zena was born in Knox City, Texas on August 2, 1935, to Judge Clyde Grissom and Helen Shook Grissom. Zena in earlier years belonged to the Women’s Club and always volunteered at the churches she and her family attended. She was a woman of strong faith and adored her children, and the love of her life, William E. “Bill” Sikes.

She is survived by her husband Bill and daughter Cynthia Grissom Sikes Adams. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Emily Coffee and LV Coffee, Sarah Sikes and Zachery Sikes. Her great grandchildren, Kennedy Coffee, Kamryn Coffee, Korbon Sigler and Jade Sigler. She was preceded in death by her son William Sikes and her grandson Wesley Adams.

The family will have a visitation at Heartland Funeral Home, Sunday August 25, 2024 from 2-4. A private burial will be held at a later date. As we bid farewell to Zena (Mammy), let us carry forward the memories of her love and warmth as we continue on our own journeys. She will forever remain in our hearts as a shining example of kindness, selflessness, and an unwavering Love for others.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Methodist Church, Brownwood or St. Lukes Episcopal, Stephenville.

Condolences, memories, and tributes can be offered to the Sikes family online at heartlandfuneralhome.com
