Renee Hymer, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024 in Coleman, Texas.

Renee was born on March 27, 1940 in Albany, Texas to Ned and Ruby Moore.  She attended Hamlin schools and furthered her education at the University of Texas in Austin.  Renee dedicated much of her life to nurturing her family as a homemaker and also contributed significantly to her community through her various roles at the Hamlin Medical Clinic, Dr. Darrel Davis DDS dental office, and the Georgetown Sleep Center.  She also served on the school board of the Hamlin ISD.  Her commitment to her faith was evident in her joyous participation in church choirs and teaching Sunday school.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hamlin for many years as well as First Methodist Church of Ganado, and Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ in Georgetown.  Renee also found great pleasure in art and line dancing, hobbies that reflected her creative spirit.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Mike Hymer (Jody), Stephanie Stone (Paul), Mitch Hymer (Renee), and Matt Hymer (Beverly); siblings Ned Moore (Kathy) and Nick Moore (Judy); grandchildren Bryan Hymer (Malori), Kelsay Knox (Billy), Nolan Stone, Owen Stone, Sydney Heidenheimer (Colin), Seth Hymer, Jackson Hymer and Gavin Hymer; and great-grandchildren Navy Knox, Taggart Knox, Woodley Hymer, and Brooks Heidenheimer.  Renee was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Reynolds, all of the staff at Holiday Hill nursing home, and the staff of Owl Drug of Coleman for caring for Renee.

The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate her life at a later date.  Remembrances and condolences may be left on Renee’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hymer family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
