shirleyPatsy R. Shirley, age 73, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 13, 2014, in Austin.

Funeral Services for Patsy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at First Christian Church with Pastor Sterling Lentz officiating, burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Murphree Cemetery in Evant, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Patsy was born on March 24, 1941 to Emanuel and Bessie Emma (Smith) Christopher in Jacksboro, Texas. She married Leroy Shirley on May 11, 1956. Patsy was a member of First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and Red Hat Society. She loved to travel, play “42” with her friends, and work in her flowerbeds. Patsy also enjoyed taking care of her spoiled dog, Misty.

Patsy leaves behind children, Robert Shirley of Graham, TX, RoAnna Spinks and husband Jerry of Cedar Park, TX, and Tracy Shirley of Lewisville, TX; grandchildren: Darrel Spinks, Joni Patterson, Sarah Shirley, Austin Shirley, William “Billy” Shirley, and Brandy Shirley; one great-grandson, Tyler; three great-granddaughters, Christine, Nicole, and Meghan; sister, Reatha Christopher of Pilot Point, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Shirley; parents; and one sister, Joy Davis.
