Ruby Christine (Gober) Allmand, age 82, of Abilene, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2024. The family will host a memorial service for Ruby at 9:30 AM on Friday, July 12, at the Rose Park Senior Activity Center in Abilene.

Ruby was born on August 2, 1941 to Dora (Dowdy) and Faye Gober in Coleman. She enjoyed volunteering at Rose Park Senior Citizens Center. Ruby was truly a joy to be around and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Ruby is survived by her children, Gary Sykes, Christine Parks and Allen Layne. Ruby Stamper and husband Ronald, and Walter Thames; brother, Tommy Gene Gober; sister, Mary Steffy; 14 grandchildren, lots of great grandchildren, numerous other family members and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Oscar Raymond Parks Jr.; 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.
