Howard Payne University via social media on Thursday announced the following students were named to the American Southwest Conference Distinguished Scholar-Athlete team:
- Tanner Benson in baseball
- Trynadee Greenwell in women’s basketball
- Casey Dufner in football
- Jaxon Hermesmeyer in men’s golf
- Amada Menchaca in women’s golf
- Deaven Connelly in men’s soccer
- Emily McClendon in women’s soccer
- Maddison Cason in softball
- Riley Harker in men’s tennis
- Victoria Ramos in women’s tennis
- Brylee Awbrey in volleyball
Sixteen sponsored sports by the ASC have nominations by member schools and affiliates that sponsor a sport with the conference. Nominations and votes are completed by Athletic Directors. Student-athletes that were nominated by their institution are listed as part of the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete team for each sport.
