Roselene Zora Dees, age 89, of May passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 2pm at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with graveside to follow at May Cemetery in May, Texas.

Rose was born to George & Violet Henry in Flint, Michigan on August 5, 1934. Rose married Jim Fyock on June 7, 1952. They were married for 9 years and had 2 sons Rick and Don. After Jim’s unexpected death Rose spent her time raising her boys. After 5 years alone there was a knock on the door from the typical persistent Kirby vacuum salesman. His name was Blanton Dees Sr. They later married on August 24, 1966 in Lucus County, Ohio and had 2 sons Blanton and Tim. They spent many years traveling and later settled in Texas. Rose and Blanton enjoyed dancing and spending time with their boys and family. After 23 years of marriage Blanton passed unexpectedly while working construction in Baytown, Texas. She then returned home to May and spent the majority of her remaining years caring for her father-in-law Blow Morgan until his passing in 2012.

Rose enjoyed many things in her life, including camping with her family, working in her yard, feeding and watching her hummingbirds, baking applesauce cookies, tending to her cats and making macrame. She loved to cook and have everyone around her. Christmas was her favorite holiday and always made sure that the Christmas tree was just perfect. Of all the things she loved the most, was the times she spent with her grandchildren playing games, making crafts and watching movies.

Rose is survived by her children Don and wife Charity Fyock of Clio, Michigan, Blanton and wife Rosario Dees of May, Texas, Melanie Dees of Brownwood, Texas, Tim and wife Angie Dees of May, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Dan Henry and wife Rene of Hudsonville, Michigan., brother-in-law Kenneth Dees and wife Sue of Brownwood,Texas

Rose was preceeded in death by her parents George and Violet Henry, two husbands, Jim Fyock and Blanton Dees Sr., in laws Blow and Mildred Morgan, one son Rick Fyock, four sisters and two brothers along with numerous other family members.

She loved unconditionally and wholeheartedly and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the wonderful care given to Rose by CMS Kinder Hearts Home Health, CMS Kinder Hearts Hospice and Care Nursing in her final days.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
