Bombers 10u Sheffield win Summer Smash Tourney

10u Bombers Sheffield were ready to compete last weekend.  They won their first two pool games and lost their first bracket game, and had to work through the losers bracket to come home champions. They played 4 games Sunday and 3 were back to back to back. In bracket the tournament director gave out MVP medals for each game. Taylin Slone won 2 of those awards and Bailey Huff the other one. In the championship, the opposing coach selected Taylin Slone and Scout Sheffield as MVPs.
Bailey Huff led the team at the plate hitting .600 on the weekend. She had a walk off hit in the first bracket game Sunday to bring in Aubree Collins for the winning run. Gentry McMillian hit .538 on the weekend. Audrey Stewart, Aubree Collins, Taylin Slone, and Hannah Armstrong hit .500 on the weekend. Scout Sheffield and Leila Watts both hit .444 on the weekend. Mayra Garcia hit .300 on the weekend and Taylor Dunn .222. Leila Watts and Taylin Slone both recorded home runs! Scout Sheffield and Taylin Slone led the team with runs scored at 9. Followed by Taylor Dunn, Hannah Armstrong, and Aubree Collins with 7 runs scored. As a team the Bombers had a team batting average of .430, with 40 hits, 28 singles, 4 doubles, 6 triples, and 2 home runs. They scored 62 runs and only had 12 strikeouts. It was the best weekend of hitting 10u Bombers Sheffield has had to this point as a team.
 Taylin Slone led the way in the circle pitching 12 innings and recording 17 strikeouts. Gentry McMillian and Scout Sheffield both pitched 2 innings and had 2 strikeouts each.
Bombers 10u will be in action next weekend. Bombers 14u Sheffield will compete this weekend.
