Heart of Texas Crimestoppers presented three $1,000 scholarships to members of the Class of 2024 from Brown, Coleman and Mills County. Each county was represented by one student as Zephyr’s Alexis Paduch, Panther Creek’s Jasmine Loyd and Priddy’s Emily Andrade were the recipients.

Loyd, who is attending Texas State, and Andrade, who is headed to Texas Tech, were presented their scholarships Thursday, while Paduch had already received hers.

Students filled out an application, submitted an essay and SAT test scores were also a factor in determining the winners.

On hand at the presentation were board president Donna Wilhelm, board vice president Mike Corley, Brown County board members Brenda Arp and Billy Arp, and Mills County board member Paula Gore. Coleman County board member Gay Morgan was unable to attend.

Heart of Texas Crimestoppers intends to issue three $1,000 scholarships to one student each from Brown, Coleman and Mills County going forward.
