The TxDOT Brownwood District shared the following information Friday afternoon:

An oversized/overweight load and its convoy are traveling through Brown County area today and Saturday. May 24-25.

The load began on FM 1467 Friday and has stopped for the day along US 183 due to anticipated traffic this evening due to graduations and holiday weekend travel.

The convoy will resume its route at approximately 7:30 a.m. Saturday. They are expected to reach US 67 at 9 a.m. to travel west through Brownwood, then north on SH 279. Motorist should expect delays in these areas.

 The convoy is expected to stop along SH 279 sometime Saturday, ending the convoy’s travel for the weekend. They will resume their route again on Tuesday morning.
