Brown County Extension Education Clubs Teach & Learn Program

AgriLifeExtensionAll Brown County residents are cordially invited by The Brown County Extension Education clubs represented by the May, McDaniel and Owens communities to attend a free teach and learn program.  This event is designed to educate the public about Texas Extension Education Association (TEEA) in Brown County.  The mission of the Extension Education Association is to work with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to strengthen and enrich families through educational programs, leadership development and community service.

The program will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Home Economics Building on the Brady Highway in the Youth Fair Complex.  Educational programs will be presented by club members who attended the State Convention in Wichita Falls in Septemberand Extension faculty.  Program topics will include:

“Safe Medication Disposal” – Learn more about how to improve individual and community disposal of medications.

“Diversity: How does it make us see, hear, feel, think and act?” – The purpose of this workshop is to learn about diversity & stereotyping and ways to improve self-awareness.

“IPad 101” – This workshop will teach you how to successfully navigate an iPad.

“To Toss or Not to Toss” –  The objectives of this workshop are to provide guidelines for how long to retain documents for tax and other purposes as well as guidelines on health information to keep and disseminate to family members.

“Understanding & Managing Anger” – Learn more about how to identify sources of anger, response choices, and self-control.
