Eleven members of the BHS Jazz Band traveled to Stephenville High School on Tuesday, September 23rd to begin the audition process toward making the ATSSB (Association of Texas Small School Bands) All-State Jazz Band.

The students played 3 different styles of music including; Swing, Latin, and a ballad. The students also performed an improvisation solo to a blues tune.

The following BHS students won a place in the ATSSB All Region Jazz Band:

• James Davis – Jazz Piano / advanced to the next round for Area
• Brady Taylor – Trombone
• Taran Cardenas – Trombone – Alternate
• Sarah Church – Tenor Saxophone – Alternate

“This is the second year in a row that Brady Taylor has made the Region Jazz band,” noted BHS Band Director, David Lambert. “The BHS students will meet with students from the other schools that made the band and perform a concert at Tarleton State University in January. Congratulations to these students.”
