First week of early voting for May 4 election ends with 192 ballots cast

The Brown County Elections Office reported Friday that 192 ballots have been cast from Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26 for the May 4 election featuring races for the Brown County Water Improvement District #1 Board, the Bangs City Council and the Early ISD Board of Trustees

Early voting continues from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30 at the Brown County Elections Office, located at 613 N. Fisk.

May 4 polling locations, open  7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to voters anywhere in Brown County,  include

  • 101 – Milton Baptist Church
  • 105 – South Side Church
  • 113 – New Life Assembly
  • 202/204 – Election Office
  • 303 – Brownwood ISD Administrative Building
  • 306 – Early First Baptist
  • 316/318 – Northridge Baptist Church
  • 410 – Bangs Community Center
  • 411 – Coggin Ave Baptist Church

Three positions are up for grabs on the water board as incumbents Johnny Hays, James E. McMillian and Jimmy Jones are seeking re-election, while Andrew Wheeler is also on the ballot.

Three positions are also open on the Bangs City Council with incumbents Gregg Parrott, William Lloyd and Waymond Sheppard running along with Slade Byars, Jerry Ellison, Aaron Gomez, Cynthia Johnson, and Carroll Wells.

In the Early school board race, incumbent and board president Chance Barr will face Jonathan McCullough for Place 1, while incumbent Robert Wade will be challenged by Larin Hair for the Place 2.
