Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 9/24

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of September 15-21, 2014 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 24 medical emergencies, 6 fire calls, 1 public assist, and 1 motor vehicle.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Tuesday, September 16

*12:13 AM – BFD responded to a fire call.

*10:22 AM – BFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire.

Wednesday, September 17

*12:24 PM – BFD was called to a fire.

Thursday, September 18

*11:34 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2100 block of Slayden Street, Brownwood High School.  Firefighters were dispatched for a pull station activation.  Upon arrival, it was determined this was a false alarm and the alarm system was reset by school officials.

*6:06 PM – BFD responded to a fire call in the 1100 block of Santa Clara.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the incoming service line to the house sparking.  Oncor was notified and firefighters shut off breakers to the house.

*7:14 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2500 block of Austin Avenue.  Fire crews were dispatched to a report of sparking power lines.  Firefighters arrived on scene and found no lines sparking; however it was determined that kids were throwing firecrackers in the air.

Friday, September 19

*6:46 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident with no injuries at the Austin Avenue and Main Street intersection.  .

Sunday, September 21

*8:19 AM – Fire Call 1500 Dublin Units arrived to find smoke in the apartment. Stove top and oven were on high causing smoke detector to activate.  Maintenance of housing complex disconnected the gas line.
