Lady Lions place 12 on 5-4A all-district soccer team

Twelve members of the Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team received all-district accolades from the coaches of District 5-4A.

Two Lady Lions earned superlative honors as forward Kynlie Lewis was selected as Offensive Newcomer of the Year and forward Madison Weckwerth was chosen Freshman of the Year.

Landing on the first team were forward Braycee Lee, defender Reagan Ratliff and midfielder Mariah Young

Second-team selections included defender Sidney Adkins, midfielder Alma Bernal, and forward Jacklyn Lewis.

Receiving honorable mentions were forward Molly Oliver and defenders Icess Hall, Nixon Johnson, and Cate Smith.

Academic all-district honorees for the Lady Lions included Oliver, Adkins, Lee, Bernal, Ratliff, Johnson, Weckwerth, Smith, Kynlie Lewis, Jacklyn Lewis, Icess Hall, Nylah Hall, Noemi Ceniceros, Adryanna Huerta , Jasmine Gibbs, Ava Brownlee, Adrianna Allen and Hannah Deen.

The rest of the 5-4A superlative honors included MVP Reese Schrutka of Stephenville, Offensive MVP Shelby Hollywood of Salado , Midfield MVP Talon Phillips of Stephenville , Defensive MVP Mackenzie Gonzalez of Stephenville, Goalkeeper MVP Kaira Toeaina of Lampasas, Defensive Newcomer of the Year Cade Harris of Salado, Golden Boot Skylar Hicks of China Spring , Silver Boot Talon Phillips of Stephenville , Assistant Coach of the Year Amy Schrutka of Stephenville, and Coach of the Year Justin Rhodes of Stephenville.

The Lady Lions finished the season with a 14-10-1 record under head coach Alexis Walker and advance to the playoffs as the fourth-place team from District 5-4A.
