CLYDE – The May Lady Tigers captured a Class A Region II bi-district championship with a 43-35 victory over Highland Tuesday night.

May (24-8) trailed 7-6 after one quarter, opened a 22-16 halftime lead, and carried a 30-19 edge into the fourth period.

Jordyn Gerhardt paced the Lady Tigers with 19 points followed by Chloe Lord with 10, Kenleigh Williford with eight, and Mia Musick with six points.

Next for the Lady Tigers is a 7:30 p.m. Friday area round contest against Harrold in Stamford.

Zephyr Lady Bulldogs 47, Rochelle 32

The District 18-A champion Zephyr Lady Bulldogs downed Rochelle, 47-32, for a Class A Region III bi-district championship victory Tuesday night at the Brownwood Coliseum.

Zephyr (24-3) opened a 12-7 advantage after one quarter, 19-15 at intermission, and 30-23 heading into the final stanza.

Aliyah Harlan led the charge with 19 points followed by 13 each from Haley Eason and Avery Dozier and two points apiece from Ronni McClain and Cali McRee.

The Lady Bulldogs will next face Huckabay at 6 p.m. Friday at Dublin in the area round.
