Lions fall to 6-4A champ Glen Rose, 76-43, in road finale

GLEN ROSE – Playing away from Warren Gym for the final time this season, the Brownwood Lions again were denied their first District 6-4A victory – this time by league champion Glen Rose, 76-43, Friday night.

The Lions (10-23, 0-7), who were dealt a ninth straight loss, trailed Glen Rose (19-13, 8-0) by a 22-8 count after one quarter, 36-18 at halftime, and 55-34 heading to the fourth period.

Ike Hall led Brownwood with 14 points trailed by Casey Friebel with nine, Morsello Hooker with seven, Austin Pittman with five, Ross Strasner with four, and Weston Wolf and Noah Pyle with two points apiece.

Tomas De La Cruz scored 32 points for Glen Rose while Dawson Miller and Jaxon Heppler also finished in double figures with 10 apiece.

The Lions wrap up their season at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host Mineral Wells (8-26, 3-4) – a 64-60 winner over Stephenville Friday.
