Charles White Jr. and Bennie White

With joy and great sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of our parents Charles Melton White Jr. and Bennie Lou Smith White. Services for Charles Jr. and Bennie White will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery. Guests will be greeted by family at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Charles Melton White Jr. was born January 30, 1934, in Blanket, TX to parents Charles M. White Sr. and Audie Bush White. Charles was received into heaven on January 31, 2024. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Georgia White Rodgers, and Ike White. On November 18,1955 he married the love of his life, Bennie Lou Smith. Charles proudly served in the United States Army followed by retiring from the City of Brownwood in 1994.

Bennie Lou Smith White was born on January 16, 1937, in Gorman, TX to Benjamin Holley and Lula Maye Smith. She worked for Brownwood Independent School District until retiring in 1999. She passed from this life and joined her soulmate on February 9, 2024. They are now living their best life together with their infant son, Jason Holley White. She is preceded in death by her siblings Dean Smith, Don Smith, and Gene Smith. Bennie is survived by her siblings, Jack Smith (wife Sandra), Elaine Daniels (husband M.L.), and Sherby Byrd.

Charles Jr. and Bennie White are survived by two daughters, Janetta Smith and Shirrell Collins; grandsons, Zane Smith, Brice Collins (Kelsey), and Levi Collins (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Emery Smith, Aubree Collins, Bode Collins, and Luna Collins, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Solaris Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Corrine T. Smith Animal Shelter in Charles M. Jr. and Bennie White’s name.
