One woman was injured as her vehicle struck a utility pole in the 3500 block of 4th Street in Brownwood Sunday morning.

The accident occurred as the Ford crossover vehicle was traveling on 4th Street at approximately 10:42 a.m.   According to emergency responders on scene, the accident was probably related to a medical condition for which the female driver was transported to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center emergency room for evaluation and treatment.  The driver was reported to be conscious at the time of the accident; however the extent of her injuries was not available.

The impact severed the pole in half, leaving electrical lines dangling across the roadway and significant damage to the front end of the vehicle.

The Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police and EMS responded to the scene.
