BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 7/28

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of July 21-27, 2014 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 26 medical emergencies, 4 fire calls, and 1 motor vehicle accident.

Reports of interest include:

Monday, July 21

*11:11 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 600 block of E. Depot Street.  The incident was determined to be a false alarm.

Tuesday, July 22

*10:21 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1000 block of Center regarding an alarm activation.   Firefighters arrived on scene to find alarms sounding and no smoke showing. Firefighters investigated and determined the incident to be a false alarm.

Thursday, July 24

*10:44 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 4100 block of 8th Street regarding an alarm activation. Fire crews arrived on scene to find alarm sounding and no occupants in the house. Firefighters investigated the residence and reset the alarm.

Saturday, July 26

*11:08 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1700 block of Durham Avenue.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small one story structure with all occupants in the yard and light smoke coming from the attic vent.  Fire crews removed all smoldering materials from structure. Red Cross was requested to respond.

Sunday, July 27

*7:43 AM –  BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at Melwood and Austin Avenue involving a vehicle striking a utility pole.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a pole broken in half and no vehicle in sight.  The utility company was notified.
