VFW Post 3278 recently donated 19 iPad Minis to support and help local people with Autism.  Keith King, Commander of the Post presented the iPads to Randy Christian of the Autism Support Group.  Comander King (right) is pictured above with VFW Ladies Auxiliary representative Stephanie Reed (left center) and President Major Jane Masters (right center) making the donation to Christian (left).

The groups involved in the fundraising of the iPad Minis were:  VFW Post 3278, the Ladies and Men’s Auxiliaries of the Post, H.O.T. Riders for Kids and Cowboy Capital Rollergirls.

While there is currently no identified cause or cure for Autism, persons with Autism can be helped to reach their greatest potential.  Accurate, early diagnosis and the resulting education and intervention are vital to the highest quality of life for these individuals.  The support group is designed to give support, information and education to families with children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism is the third most common developmental disability, affecting 1.5 million individuals nationwide. Autism affects not only the diagnosed individual but the entire family.   The Autism Support Group meets monthly at Center for Life Resources, 408 Mulberry Street, Brownwood, Texas at 5:30 PM.  For information regarding the group, date and time of the next meeting, contact Randy Christian 325-998-4073.

Pictured below are individuals enjoying their iPads at their homes.
