Raymond Diaz Jr., age 72 of Brownwood passed away Monday December 4, 2023, in Brownwood.

Services for Raymond Diaz Jr. will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace in Brownwood, Texas with Father Anthony Franco officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Interment will follow at Blanket Cemetery in Blanket, Texas.

Raymond was born on July 27, 1951, in Marlin, Texas to Raymond and Carolina Diaz. He grew up in Blanket, Texas and graduated from Blanket High School in 1969. Raymond was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and proudly served in the US Army until he was honorably discharged in 1977. He served as a mechanic for the army while in Germany. He loved working with his hands and was a jack of all trades.

Raymond is survived by his daughter, Bertha Diaz of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Miah Diaz; great-niece, Ciara Gonzalez; sisters, Mary Diaz Delarosa and husband Victor of Round Rock, Texas, and Sammie Diaz and Able Martinez of Early, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Diaz, Manual Diez, and Johnny Diaz.
