2014HummerRaffleWinner

Boys and Girls Club of Brown County representatives Cynthia Locker and Bob Stearns presented the keys to the lucky winner, Chance Vaughn of Baird, of the H1 Hummer which was recently raffled as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Brown County.

The drawing was held at the 13th Annual Barn Dance which also benefited the Boys and Girls Club.  The raffle was a sell out with 200 tickets which were sold for $250 each, resulting in $50,000 being raised for the club.

All of the proceeds from the raffle benefit the club which provides a safe location for an average of 200 kids after school, during the holidays and throughout the summer.  This fundraiser was made possible thanks to Steve and Teresa Beal who donated the Hummer which was valued at more than $47,000.  The Boys and Girls Club congratulates Mr. Vaughn and thanks everyone who supported the club during the raffle and Barn Dance.

According to Michael Richardson of the Boys and Girls Club, the 13th Annual Barn Dance was also a huge success and the biggest one to date.

“We had over 500 people attend to see The Bellamy Brothers put on a great show, and then Kelly Spinks & The Miles of Texas took over to close out the night.” said Richardson.  “Thank you to all our sponsors, donors, attendees, & the entire Brownwood community for supporting the club. This was the biggest & best Barn Dance to date and we could not do it without the support of our community.”

The Boys and Girls Club is located in the old South Elementary building. The club is equipped with a computer lab, tutors, game room, art classes, snack/meals, mentoring programs and a Junior Masters Gardening Program.

For more information, please visit the Boys and Girls Club of Brown County on their webpage or Facebook page.
