A total of 151 ballots were cast Monday for the Nov. 7 constitutional amendment election, bringing the total thus far to 827 – or 3.5% of registered Brown County voters.

Early voting continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Brown County Elections Office.

Election Day polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Prop. 4 deals with increasing the amount of the exemption from ad valorem taxation by a school district on residence homesteads from $40,000 to $100,000.

Prop. 9 authorizes a cost-of-living adjustment to certain annuitants of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
