Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

Belofishingw are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and local fisherman Joey Wynn.

Lake Brownwood

Water is 11.1 ft. below spillway and stained; 64–72 degrees. Black bass are Excellent to 5.02lbs on black /blue, chartreuse/white chatter baits, craw color or shad RJA crank baits in spawning coves and around the docks 1′ to 5′, shad color spinner baits, dark finesse worm on a shaky heads, SinkO’s and on  Brownwood Special or camo Basshogg jigs in 4′ to 10′.    Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are excellent to 1.25 lbs in 1-8 ft off flats and off lighted docks 5 to 25 ft on minnows and jigs.  Crappie are good to 1.50 lbs spawning on minnows and white and shad Li’l Fishies. Channel catfish are slow 2 to 4 lbs on prepared shrimp and cut shad.  Blue catfish are slow to 5 lbs caught on prepared baits 10 to 15 ft. Yellow catfish are slow to10 lbs caught on trot lines baited with perch, shrimp and gold fish  in 5 to 10 ft.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 62–66 degrees; 16.51′ low. Black bass are good on dark soft plastic worms, lizards, and spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 63–68 degrees; 47.47′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, jigs and weightless flukes. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 65–69 degrees; 8.87′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/black soft plastic worms and lizards. Striped bass are good on live shad and white striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs in 10–15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
