The Comanche Police Department posted the following on Facebook early Sunday morning:

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, at approximately 11:16 p.m. the De Leon and Comanche Police Department was dispatched to a 911 call in the 600 block of S. Bowie St. in De Leon. The 911 caller reported that an individual had forcibly entered the residence and she had been stabbed. Upon the officers arrival at the location, they were confronted by the suspect who was armed with a large knife. Officers were forced to shoot the suspect and upon Emergency Medical Services’ arrival, the suspect was declared deceased.

This incident is being investigated by the Texas Ranger Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
