KeepBrownwoodBeautifulLogoKeep Brownwood Beautiful and the City of Brownwood are getting set for their upcoming county-wide cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd.

The cleanup is a great chance to get rid of unwanted items from area residences.

It will take place from 8 AM to 1 PM under the Austin Avenue Overpass at Avenue A and Brady at the Community Plaza across the street from the overpass.  Cars, vans and pickups only, trailers must go to the landfill where there will be no charge between the cleanup hours.  All loads must be covered.

Acceptable items accepted at the cleanup include brush, yard debris, household garbage, latex and spray paint (limit 10 gallons), metal, refrigerators (must be free of food), stoves, ovens, air conditioning units, anti-freeze, car batteries, passenger car tires (max 8 per household – no tires accepted from tire dealers), used motor oil (limit 5 gallons).   No hazardous waste will be accepted.   Document shredding has also been added to the clean up with a 3 box maximum.

Electronic items accepted during the event include computers, monitors, printers, copy machines, fax machines, scanners, cameras, batteries, VCR/VCD/DVD players, and MP3 players.

For more information, call 641-0533 or 641-8832. The event is a partnership between Keep Brownwood Beautiful and the City of Brownwood.
