Lady Lions place third at ‘Thrill of the Hill’ while Lions come in 11th

Sidney Windham, with an 8th place time of 13:52.15, paced the Brownwood girls, who finished ahead of all other 6-4A teams in final meet before district competition Tuesday back in Stephenville

STEPHENVILLE – In their final action prior to Tuesday’s District 6-4A cross country meet, the Brownwood Lady Lions placed third as a team and the Lions came in 11th at the Thrill of Hill Meet at the Stephenville City Park Wednesday morning.

The Lady Lions finished with 154 points, trailing only meet champion Goldthwaite (48 points) and Godley (90 points). The Brownwood girls also placed ahead of District 6-4A rivals Glen Rose (6th), Stephenville (7th), and Graham (18th).

Leading the charge for the Lady Lions were Sidney Windham in 8th place with a time of 13:52.15, followed by Braycee Lee (19th, 14:32.79), Lyndi Biasiolli (41st, 15:09.81), Emma Stegemoller (46th, 15:17.93), Kate Tindol (47th, 15:19.22), Kylea Karnes (58th, 15:40.55), Talia Croff (66th, 15:44.9), Haylee Adkins (72nd, 15:50.37), and Alma Bernal (83rd, 16:02.1).

The Lions tallied 261 points which trailed Keene (65 points), Itasca (111), Breckenridge (112), Stephenville (139), Benbrook (190), Bridgeport (190), Zephyr (244), Joshua (247), Graham (250) and Abilene Cooper (251).

Bennett Windham paced Brownwood with a 10th-place effort of 19:12.98, followed by Aidan Pena (39th, 20:31.22), Noah Lambert (57th, 20:59), Mark Martinez (74th, 21:26.47), Stephen Rodriguez (111th, 22:35.91), Caden Carnes (112th, 22:36.44), and Ty Tindol (128th, 23:23.79).

In JV action, the Lions were first in the final team standings while the Lady Lions came in fourth.

Running for the JV Lions were Easton Judkins (5th, 21:34.73), David Martinez (12th, 22:39.79), Noah Pyle (19th, 23:01), Braylon Harvey (22nd, 23:13.15), Kayden Hernandez (26th, 23:25.37), Gio Diaz (36th, 23:58.96), and Juan Cervantes (54th, 26:08.09).

Competing for the JV Lady Lions were Montanna Ramsey (10th, 16:18.91), Kylie Arocha (15th, 16:47.97), Madison Weckwerth (25th, 17:26.76), Maddie Hampton (29th, 17:39.69), Izzie Mendez (59th, 19:24,83), Autumn Reeves (71st, 20:39.62).
