Carolina Longoria Diaz, age 85, of Early passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Senior Care of Brownwood with her family by her side.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, interment will follow at Blanket Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00–8:00 P.M. Monday at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Carolina was born on July 24, 1928 to Miguel and Frances (Davila) Longoria in Runge, Texas. She married Raymond Gonzales Diaz, Sr. on October 12, 1947 in Coleman, Texas. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and making quilts and blankets. Carolina was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who will be truly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Diaz Del Rosa and husband Victor of Round Rock, Sammie Martinez and husband Able of Early; sons, Raymond Diaz Jr. of Early, Johnny Diaz and wife Patricia of Round Rock; fifteen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Tommie Longoria of Temple. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gonzales Diaz, Sr.; sons, Roy Diaz, Sr. and Manuel Diaz, Sr.; her parents; and three brothers.
